Boadicea the Victorious is an independent British fragrance brand. Taking a defining moment in history as our inspiration, we have created a range of gender neutral perfumes that are quintessentially British and of incomparable quality. Each one of the iconic bottles has been hand crafted by some of Britain’s finest artisans, and illuminates how the brand champions British heritage
and values. A fusion of tradition, heritage and timeless classic luxury, Boadicea the Victorious is the ultimate celebration of beauty, strength and nobility.

Our aim is simple: to bring outstanding, original fragrances to the discerning. To do this we insist that all Boadicea the Victorious components are made within the UK by experienced manufacturers, each bottle boasting handcrafted elements. As for the ingredients themselves, they are impeccably sourced and of the highest quality, be it sambac from Bhutan or oud from the forests of Southeast Asia. It is this combination of the exotic and the irrefutably British that bestows upon the brand such an air of exclusivity and distinction.

Review of the samples that I have in an official Travel Set
COMPLEX
A kinda in your face dense and heavy sage with basil opening with some herbal nuances reminiscing of a rainforest and an incense floating in the background that's the first thing you experience in Complex. The drydown is divided in three phases, the first one is full of resins and leather but never loosing it's wild forest character. The second one is more leathery and herbal and the deep drydown is a quite strange mixture of leather based with deep incense, resins, woods, violet and musk. A complex and challenging scent that makes justice to its name. Dark, Mysterious even dangerous. This is pretty unique and different from anything in my collection. Not for the lovers of "safe" scents. Complex is a restrained beast waiting to be released.

ARDENT
Included in "The Spirit Collection" This scent made by Christian Provenzano is an oriental blast of the well known rose-saffron-oud combo powdered and sweetened up by a good dose of benzoin and honey alongside vanilla and some resins. Coriander and patchouli are also present to add different dimensions to the scent supported by an "intermitent" heady jasmine note. In the late drydown mild oud and ambery labdanum takes place to not let the fragrance fall into a cloying sweet territory but always maintaining the vibrant sometimes fruity kinda rose, benzoin and vanilla trio up front.

MONARCH
Fruity natural opening with berries and grapefruit accompanied by a good artemisia note. The heart of Monarch is composed by well blended flowers, incense, mild oud, spices where the cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon shines. Am ambery and balsamic base rounds up this warm and spicy concoction.

GLORIOUS
An amazing and alluring fruity opening welcomes you to Glorious to let you know that you are in front of a sweet and syrupy kinda fragrance. A good dose of cardamom, resins and cedar helps to balance a little bit the first phase sweetness to not fall into a cloying territory on my skin and making it more warm and with more depth. The late drydown and base throws a musky and semi-woody vibe mixed with jasmine and timid rose that completes the scent but never leaving the plummy, jammy and syrupy soul mixed with mild woods and musk that Glorious has.

Cafe Tuberosa by Atelier Cologne

Hyper realistic fresh coffee beans. One of the best coffee based scents that I've ever smelled Opening with the most realistic coffee note I've ever smelled merged with the typical citrus freshness of Atelier's DNA and heritage thanks to the mandarin and the bergamot. To the hyper realistic fresh coffee beans is added a tuberose that begins being green and becomes juicy and creamy as the time goes by to join a wonderful and syrupy rose, the cocoa and the vanilla, creating a sensual mix that I find super addictive The fragrance ends up resting on a base of cocoa, vanilla with floral nuances and aroma of coffee.
