ROSE1845 by Christophe Laudamiel for Lazarus Douvos

A perfume that has a connection with my soul like I've been knowing it and wearing it my whole life When it comes to rose, I feel like I'm playing home because of my devotion for all the perfumes conceived around the queen of the garden, so it's a note that makes me feel comfortable but at the same time, I'm very demanding and quite skeptical with rose based perfumes as they must have something that can act as a wow factor or element of surprise to make me fall in love like I am with others like Portrait of a Lady by Dominique Ropion for Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle, Rose Nacrée du Desert, the superlative rose by Thierry Wasser for the now extinct Les Déserts d'Orient collection by Guerlain, vintage Nahema, the unique and special PHI Une Rose de Kandahar by Andy Tauer, the super natural Pink Wood by April Aromatics in which the talented hand of Tanja Bochnig conformed a true experience around the rose, some of my attars especially Ward by Al Shareef Oud ...

Weil de Weil by Weil Parfums

A perfume with a story behind THE PERFUME It's well known by all that perfume is an activator and evocative of memories but when it comes to a time machine perfume, in this case Weil de Weil fulfills this function. I immediately feel transported to another time and place with my grandmother in memories that really touch my heart and soul and remind me of a smell that symbolizes a moment and a feeling of tenderness and delicacy.   Also, Weil de Weil has the capacity to evolve into its own life to conform absolutely different perfumes, from a bright, green, fresh and clean spring morning to a sunset on a sweltering summer day. This is thanks to the contrasts that this perfume treasures to evolve from bright green to leathery chypre. That's what happens to Weil de Weil, from the spring morning to the summer night. A scent that blew me away since the very first moment that I smelled it and moreover when I experienced the transition and the capability that it has ...

A perfect balanced rose THE PERFUME Grasse is the cradle of perfumery and produces some of the highest quality raw materials in the world, this beautiful region welcomes us all in its embrace of precious flowers and ageless aromas. The “ Maître Gantiers ” manufactured gloves, fans and other perfumed accessories for the Royal Houses of Renaissance Europe . In 2018, UNESCO accredited the Art of Perfumery in Grasse World Heritage Status in light of their exceptional knowledge associated with cultivating ingredients and for the art of perfume composition. Our desire was to create a fragrance which represents the history and unique craftmanship of Grasse enabling everyone to enjoy the quality and true greatness of the art of French perfumery. To achieve this, Gian Luca Perris selected a protagonist of suitable grandeur: « In Grasse there were several noteworthy candidates to be the lead creative in this project! But to me, Jean Claude Ellena is the most iconic perfumer of our tim...

L'Aventure Knight by Al Haramain Perfumes

A very good fragrance imho due to its versatility, fantastic quality-price ratio and performance It opens with a harsh rough tea note mixed with green and bitter citrus notes. During the first phase of the drydown powdery notes of iris and violet meet the green and fresh notes to conform the soul of this scent to end up resting on a bed of sandalwood and musky notes. It's sharp at the opening but well blended in the rest. All in all a very good fragrance imho due to its versatility, fantastic quality-price ratio and performance. An all year round fragrance, perfect for almost any occasion and weather. PS: To those who are wondering if this scent could be compared with GIT by Creed, my answer is yes. Notes: Lemon Verbena, Bergamot, Tea, Iris, Violet Leaf, Ozonic notes, Powdery notes, Ambergris, Sandalwood, Musk. Salida con una áspera y dura nota de té mezclada con notas cítricas verdes y amargas. Durante la primera fase del secado, las notas empolvadas de iris y violeta se enc...

Nebbia Spessa by Filippo Sorcinelli

Imagen
“Mixing instant fear and convulsive pleasure, between salt revulsion and pleasure” It opens with a huge load of salty sea air. It's fresh and it's bracing, almost cold. Blue water, grey sky and seaweed is what it evokes. It's bright and invigorating but has some darkness in it and a kinda melancholic side to it as the rest of Filippo Sorcinelli creations. It has that one of a kind and different vibe that makes this house so unique. I barely find many differences from the begining to the drydown and the base. It becomes salty yet very ozonic even cold and damp. There's a metallic vibe in it that you'll either love it or hate it and it seems that it's exactly the effect that Sorcinelli was going for with this fragrance; “mixing instant fear and convulsive pleasure, between salt revulsion and pleasure”. With above said, consider this scent to be classified on the "challenging" side of things. The bottle presentation is beautiful and super original. Be...

Ninfeo Mio by Annick Goutal Paris

Inspired in a walk throught the gardens of Ninfa in Rome   Sharp citrus fruits in the opening mixed with a rough fig leaf note. At the beginning of the drydown it develops from the hyper realistic citrus opening to a greenness made by that Fig leaf. Feels so herbal and refreshing. It continues evolving to a woody and resinous warmness almost smoky I could say that sweetens up enough the fragrance but never loosing its hesperide and citrus DNA. It's a fragrance that influences in your mood and state of mind bringing you a peace and quiteness that only the nature can bring you. Fabulous longevity and heavy to moderate sillage as the hours goes by. Inspired in a walk throught the gardens of Ninfa in Rome. Notes: Cedrat, Amalfi Lemon, Galbanum, Petit Grain, Fig Leaves, Mastic Resin and Woody Notes. Salida afilada cítrico-frutal mezclada con una áspera nota de hoja de higuera. Al comenzar el secado va pasando de la salida cítrica hiper realista a un verdor protagonizado por esa ...

Le Jardin de Monsieur Li by Hermes

A good, clean, fresh, intimate and minimalist scent that is great for warm weather and could evoke you to a relaxed state of calm and peace walking in an oriental flower garden Citrus opening with Kumquat (Chinesse orange) that is similar to tangerine, very refreshing, bracing, herbal and with some greenness. The floral accords appears right away at the start of the drydown. I perceive white flowers from the jasmin that mixed with the "orange" seems like an strange orange blossom. A musky environment mixed with green are the main characters of the drydown as well as an aquatic, fresh and bracing vibe in it. A good, clean, fresh, intimate and minimalist scent that is great for warm weather and could evoke you to a relaxed state of calm and peace walking in an oriental flower garden. It's pretty linear but very well blended and doesn't try to do nothing that it's not meant to do as it's good in its simplicity. The longevity is good but the sillage is below t...

Kaleidoscope by Daniel Josier

Imagen
Fresh, green, aromatic, creamy, something sweet, woody, super mature, elegant and versatile   When the Master Daniel Josier told me to be patient with Kaleidoscope and that it was very special, I didn't imagine that it'd be as special as this perfume has turned out to be for me, but in a good way. Super aromatic opening with a mint and eucalyptus totally three-dimensional and hyper-realistic. Immediately a pine note very well executed and a heavy dose of lavender is perceived. The spectacular cedar and other noble woods is the next thing that is perceived. I find a certain creaminess provided by a cypress very wrapped in sandalwood. It's a super realistic forest smell. At the base a light and balsamic incense next to a very hidden oud culminate and round this jewel. It is fresh, it is green, it is aromatic, it is creamy, something sweet, woody, super mature, elegant and versatile. Long lasting longevity with heavy to moderate sillage. Notes: Mint, Green Tea, Eucalyptu...
