Masque Milano house overview and reviews
Masque is a perfume house founded by Riccardo Tedeschi and Alessandro Brun in Milan in 2012.
"Fascinated by perfumes and fine fragrances, they strengthened their background starting an educational programme in olfactory techniques (encompassing study of the reference books, attendance to seminars and training courses, and burning their midnight oil with untold practice hours) and started feeling at ease in the enticing world of noses and raw materials. They start writing some memories, and soon come up with a collection of “scenes”, representing moments of their past lives, places they visited, friendships and loves, feelings, deja-vus and recurring dreams. Not just Orchestra Directors, they now turned into playwrights and producers of an Opera, in whose Acts and Scenes young and talented noses – rising stars of worldwide artistic perfumery – would wear the mask and interpret their roles. It was 2012, and Masque Fragranze was born. From now on, Masque fulfils the needs of even the pickiest customers, with two brands and two product lines complementing each other: Masque Fragranze and Masque Cosmetics (started in 2010)."
Terralba
Citrus-spicy opening with a lemon and a hyper realistic green orange that you can almost taste accompanied by the greenery of the clary sage. In the drydown the fragrance begins to become greener, aromatic, resinous and very Mediterranean thanks to the thyme, myrtle and juniper. With an immortal flower in its right measure and dose combined with the lentisque and some super elegant, resinous and slightly warm woods, it evokes me the sensation of walking through a forest near the Mediterranean coast on a warm summer afternoon. The ingredients are of an excellent quality and the fragrance is very complex and with a great evolution what has left me wanting to continue testing this fantastic line.Very well done Masque Milano👏
The longevity is good and the sillage moderate to soft.

Salida cítrico-especiada con un limon y una naranja verde hiper realistas que casi puedes paladear acompañados del verdor de la esclarea. Enseguida la fragancia comienza a tornarse mas verde, aromática, resinosa y muy mediterranea con el tomillo, el mirto y el enebro. Con una flor inmortal en su justa medida combinada con el lentisco y unas maderas super elegantes, resinosas y ligeramente cálidas, me evoca la sensación de estar caminando por un bosque cerca de la costa mediterránea en una cálida tarde de verano. Los ingredientes son de una calidad excelsa y la fragancia muy compleja y con una gran evolución lo que me ha dejado con ganas de seguir probando esta fantástica linea. Muy bien hecho Masque Milano👏

Montecristo
Notes: Cabreuva, Ambrette Seeds, Rum, Tobacco Leaves, Celery Seeds, Cistus, Benzoin, Golden Stone, Styrax Gum, Gaiac Wood, Cedar Wood and Patchouli.
Salida desafiante y bestialmente poderosa muy oscura y embriagadora, así como muy animalica. El almizcle ambreta intenta evocar la sensación de piel cálida. Una mezcla de tabaco seco, ládano y benjuí sigue agregando oscuridad a la fragancia. A mitad de vida es ahumada, contiene pachulí oscuro, es correoso, aromático, cálido, incluso picante y balsámico. Puedo sentir una dosis de madera de cedro y un toque herbal en ella. Estamos ante una obra de arte polémica que no te dejará indiferente. Es nostálgico y evocador. Te proporcionará un viaje sensorial sin lugar a dudas. Calidad increíble de nuevo. Gran longevidad y proyección de pesada a moderada.

Russian Tea
Opens with a huge load of black tea and mint mixed with the contrasts of raspberry and pepper. The drydown phase begins with a very elegant and sophisticated leather accord note that reminds of the best suede that, accompanied by a soft magnolia, is woody and smoked thanks to the birch and incense. The labdanum in my opinion adds a honeyed touch to the whole and dries it in just the right way, always keeping the black tea and the velvety leather as the undisputed protagonists of this creation. On the whole, it's a perfume with a wonderful balance and a very good quality of ingredients once again that gets richer and richer as the hours go by.
The longevity is fantastic and the sillage moderate to soft.

Salida cargada de té negro y menta unidos a los contrastes de la frambuesa y la pimienta. Enseguida comienza la fase de secado arrojando una nota de cuero muy elegante y sofisticada recordando a las mejores gamuzas que, acompañado por una suave magnolia, va amaderandose y ahumandose gracias al abedul y el incienso. El ládano le aporta en mi opinión un toque meloso al conjunto y lo seca en la justa medida eso si, siempre manteniendo el té negro y el cuero aterciopelado como protagonistas indiscutibles de esta creación. En conjunto me parece un perfume con un equilibrio maravilloso y una calidad de ingredientes muy buena una vez mas que se va enriqueciendo cada vez mas según las horas pasan.
La longevidad es fantástica y la proyección de moderada a ligera.

Times Square
Quite liquorice even boozy opening thanks to some of the ingredients mixed and melted. There's lots of an absolutely beautiful violet and a gorgeous rose. It's slightly sweet thanks to the bubblegum vibe that the tuberose provides. There's also a cherry or raspberry vibe maybe thanks to the mixing of some notes that also provides that glossy lipstick accord. The hazelnut, the sandalwood and the gaiac provides the fragrance with a creaminess that I absolutely love. It seems light or easy but it reveals its quality and complexity through its life and evolution. Once again superb quality and development.
Great longevity and moderate to soft sillage.

Salida alicorada y con deje a regaliz, incluso algo alcohólica/embriagadora fruto de la fusión de algunos de sus ingredientes. Arroja una gran cantidad de una violeta absolutamente hermosa junto con una bonita rosa. Es un poco dulce gracias al deje aromático a chicle que proporciona el nardo. También hay un deje de cereza o frambuesa gracias a la mezcla de algunas notas que reproduce ese acorde de gloss labial. La avellana, el sándalo y el gaiac proporcionan a la fragancia una cremosidad que me encanta. Parece ligero o sencillo, pero revela su calidad y complejidad a través de su vida y evolución. Una vez más excelente calidad y desarrollo.
Gran longevidad y proyección de pesada a moderada.

Luci ed Ombre
It opens with a smokey floral accord that immediately shows you why its name is Luci ed Ombre (Light and Shadow). Combines the bright floral facet provided by the jasmine with the smokey dark note of incense. During the drydown a sticky olibanum with a hint of ginger accompany the beautiful jasmine and the tuberose note. Its heart it's very floral and balsamic which makes it elegant and consistent. It's a pleasant, clean scent but with a light presence. Even though I don't believe in genre when it comes to fragrances I found this one leaning towards the feminine side at certain stages. The longevity is good and the sillage moderate to soft.

Salida con un acorde floral y ahumado que inmediatamente te muestra porque su nombre es Luci ed Ombre (luces y sombras). Combina la luminosa faceta floral proporcionada por el jazmin con la oscura y ahumada nota de incienso. Durante el secado un frankincienso pegajoso con un toque de jengibre acompaña al bonito jazmín y a la nota de nardo. Su corazón es muy floral y balsámico lo que lo hace elegante y consistente. Es agradable y limpio pero con una presencia ligera. A pesar de no creer en géneros en los perfumes he encontrado que este se inclina ligeramente al lado femenino en algunas de sus fases. La longevidad es buena y la proyección de moderada a ligera.

Mandala
To be honest it took me a while to understand, enjoy and like this fragrance. After a few minutes it has turned into something beautiful that I absolutely love it.
It opens spiced with a big frankincense and dusty spices. Generous dose of cardamom that blends fantastic with a tiny hint of cinnamon and cloves. At the base the spices rest on a bed of myrrh, labdanum and woods that makes it super oriental, resinous, balsamic and a mixture of creaminess and dryness. A high end ambergris rounds the mix adding a little bit of saltiness or some kinda aquatic nuances like a sea breeze smell. It provides you with a classy and luxurious vibe sensation. Once again top quality ingredients.
Great longevity and moderate to soft sillage.

Para ser honesto, me llevó un tiempo entender, disfrutar y apreciar esta fragancia. Después de unos minutos se convirtió en algo hermoso que me encanta.
La salida es especiada con un gran frankincienso y especias polvorientas. Una dosis generosa de cardamomo que combina fantásticamente con un pequeño toque de canela y clavo de olor. En la base, las especias descansan en un lecho de mirra, ládano y maderas que lo hacen super oriental, resinoso, balsámico y una perfecta mezcla de cremosidad y sequedad. Un ambargris de gama alta redondea la mezcla agregando un poco de salinidad o algunos matices algo acuáticos que recuerdan al olor a brisa marina. Te proporciona una sensación elegante y lujosa. Una vez más ingredientes de la mas alta calidad.
Gran longevidad y proyección de moderada a suave.

Hemingway (homage to)
Opening with a generous dose of ginger and rhubarb that creates and evokes a green and boozy vibe. Rapidly the drydown throws the different varieties of vetiver that creates a feeling with similarities and nuances of woods, smoke, raw soil and darkness. It reminds me of one of my all time favorite scents Encre Noire by Lalique. It's the same feeling of being in a large forest wet after the rain and the smell pf firewood burning in a fireplace not far away. It's green, it's earthy, it's woody, it's dark and even resinous and of course has fantastic quality ingredients as the rest of the Masque Milano Line.
Great longevity and the sillage moderate to soft.
Notes: Ginger, Rhubarb, Haitian Vetiver, Java Vetiver Oil.
Salida con una generosa dosis de jengibre y ruibarbo que crea y evoca un ambiente verde y alcohólico. Rápidamente el secado arroja las diferentes variedades de vetiver que crean una sensación con similitudes y matices de maderas, humo, tierra cruda y oscuridad. Me recuerda a uno de mis perfumes favoritos de todos los tiempos Encre Noire de Lalique. Es la misma sensación de estar en un gran bosque húmedo después de la lluvia y el olor de la leña quemada en una chimenea no muy lejos. Es verde, es terroso, es leñoso, oscuro e incluso resinoso y, por supuesto, tiene ingredientes de fantástica calidad como el resto de la línea Masque Milano.
La longevidad es muy buena y la proyección de moderada a ligera.

L'Attesa
A little bit green and sour opening with an enormous dose of iris combined with sparkling citrus bathed in champagne. At the very begining it's quite powdery, feminine, make-up/lipstick vibe but when the drydown starts it turns into one of the most beautiful iris based scents that I've ever wore. The florals mixed with the iris/orris are simply majestic. It's powdery but the leather helps to balance it and give it a super classy, elegant vibe accompany by the sandalwood and a generous dose of oak moss. This perfume is wonderful, thick and rounded completely three dimensional and with highest quality of natural ingredients.
The longevity is fantastic and the sillage moderate.
Notes: Italian Bergamot, Neroli, Champagne Accord, Italian Iris Root Butter, French Iris Root Butter, Italian Iris Absolute, Tuberose Absolute, Ylang-Ylang, Mysore Sandalwood, Oakmoss, Leather Accord.
Salida verde y ligeramente agria con una enorme dosis de iris combinada con cítricos brillantes bañados en champaña. Al principio es bastante empolvado, femenino, con un toque de maquillaje / lápiz labial, pero cuando comienza el secado, se convierte en uno de los perfumes basados en el iris más hermosos que he tenido la oportunidad de vestir. Las flores mezcladas con iris / orris son simplemente majestuosas. Es empolvado, pero el cuero ayuda a equilibrarlo y darle un toque elegante y con mucha clase, acompañado por el sándalo y una generosa dosis de musgo de roble. Este perfume es maravilloso, grueso y redondo completamente tridimensional y con la más alta calidad de ingredientes naturales.
La longevidad es fantástica y la proyección moderada.

Romanza
Sour opening and green with a mix of floral accords in which I get a blast of jasmine along with the hyacinth and rest of the florals such as the narcissus. During the drydown and the base the flowers get melted and mixed with the rest of the notes and ingredients embalming thanks to the amber and becoming a bit resinous due to the cedar and the myrrh. It's quite animalic as there's a generous dose of civet in it. There's also a vintage vibe in it. I have to confess that this is not my cup of tea 100% but I appreciate the quality of the ingredients and understand the intention behind this creation. Rich, a little bit challenging and complex.
Very long lasting longevity and heavy to moderate sillage.
Notes: Anise, Narcissus, Hyacinth, Jasmine Sambac, Violet Leaf, Haitian Vetiver, Texas Cedar, Amber and Myrrh.
Apertura agria y verde, con una mezcla de acordes florales en los que recibo un estallido de jazmín junto con el jacinto y el resto de flores como el narciso. Durante el secado y la base, las flores se funden y mezclan con el resto de las notas y los ingredientes embalsamandose gracias al ámbar y volviéndose un poco resinosa debido al cedro y la mirra. Es bastante animálico ya que contiene una generosa dosis de civeta. También hay un toque muy vintage en él. Tengo que confesar que este no es mi estilo al 100%, pero aprecio la calidad de los ingredientes y entiendo la intención detrás de esta creación. Es rico, un poco desafiante y complejo.
La longevidad es muy buena y la proyección de pesada a moderada.

Tango
It opens very spicy with cumin, cinnamon and cardamom in addition to some booziness that becomes rough first, then during drydown, to become more soothing, balsamic and resinous thanks to amber and benzoin. A discreet note of rose and jasmine with a beautiful sandalwood and other woody notes are present to join the rest of the composition perfectly balancing the mixture. It's very dense, warm, creamy, sweet and a great Oriental perfume in its quintessence, it has complexity and treasures an enormous quality.
Here ends my sensory and olfactory journey through the Masque Milano collection and I'd like to thank you for this opportunity and congratulate you for these wonderful and excellent creations. Now it's time to think about which one or which ones I'm going to add to my collection

Salida muy especiada con comino, canela y cardamomo además de licorosa o boozy que se torna algo áspera primero para, después durante el secado, ir haciéndose mas balsámica y resinosa gracias al ambar y el benjuí. Una discreta nota de rosa y jazmín con un precioso sándalo y demás notas amaderadas hacen presencia para sumarse al resto de la composición equilibrando perfectamente la mezcla. Es muy denso, cálido, cremoso, dulce y un grandísimo perfume oriental en toda regla, tiene complejidad y atesora una enorme calidad.
Aquí termina mi viaje sensorial y olfativo a través de la colección de Masque Milano y me gustaría dar las gracias por esta oportunidad y felicitarles por estas maravillosas y excelsas creaciones. Ahora es turno de pensar en cuál o cuáles voy a añadir a mi colección.
