ROSE1845 by Christophe Laudamiel for Lazarus Douvos

A perfume that has a connection with my soul like I've been knowing it and wearing it my whole life

When it comes to rose, I feel like I'm playing home because of my devotion for all the perfumes conceived around the queen of the garden, so it's a note that makes me feel comfortable but at the same time, I'm very demanding and quite skeptical with rose based perfumes as they must have something that can act as a wow factor or element of surprise to make me fall in love like I am with others like Portrait of a Lady by Dominique Ropion for Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle, Rose Nacrée du Desert, the superlative rose by Thierry Wasser for the now extinct Les Déserts d'Orient collection by Guerlain, vintage Nahema, the unique and special PHI Une Rose de Kandahar by Andy Tauer, the super natural Pink Wood by April Aromatics in which the talented hand of Tanja Bochnig conformed a true experience around the rose, some of my attars especially Ward by Al Shareef Oud in which the perfumer perfectly executes and represents the cheerful, green, fresh and lemony aromatic nuances of the Afghani rose, DeadofNight by the master Christophe Laudamiel for Strangelove NY which conforms a bewitching rose-amber-oud combo, or Fragrance du Bois's Sahraa Oud with its lush and edible rose petals, rich exotic saffron and syrupy, orangey honeyed amber wrapped in the most precious 100% certified organic sacred Oud Wood.

THE PERFUMER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Lazarus Douvos is the first in its class, a hair care collection crafted like a fine perfume pourable from an elegant hand-blown glass vessel. No wrap-around stickers, pumps or plastic are part of the intrinsic nature of this luxurious brand.

Minimizing consumer confusion with a streamlined offering and presenting natural ingredients further defines the brand’s character.

Lazarus is the epitome of an innovative designer who accepts only perfection as his standard. He has elevated ROSE1845 to a supreme level, reflected by the customized bottles made in France by the glass specialist Verreries Brosse. The level of prestige is further heightened by the brand‘s signature scent ROSE1845, created by the highly respected master perfumer Christophe Laudamiel.

Using only the best of roses hand-picked from the gardens of Grasse and other world ingredient delicacies, ROSE1845 is a luxurious proposition in a new era of prestige haircare, designed for the most discerning clientele.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐯𝐨𝐬 is an internationally renowned hair stylist who has been perfecting the technique of hair design and styling for over three decades. The incomparable and critical combination of innate talent, dedication, and relentless hard work has enabled Lazarus to perfect his vocation to the highest artistic level.
Lazarus made 5 attempts via social media prior to meet Christophe. He stated he felt like home when he finally met him because he really resonated with the detail Lazarus given his visión.
He explained to Christophe that he wanted a rose perfume because it's his beloved flower and flower of love. This is said by person who states that perfume is like love to him so it's clear that a lot of feelings, emotions and heart are translated into this piece. It took 93 versions to get to the final formula even though Lazarus thought that Christophe already got it at versión 59, but Laudamiel didn't stop until he felt the result will be perfect and oh my! He did it, the result is perfect.
THE PERFUME
There's a lot of pleasant and beautiful rose based scents out there that not I only like them but in fact I own them in my collection but at the same time there aren't many rose based scents that has that special feeling and aura that touches your soul forever like those above mentioned did with me. Well, Rose 1845 Eau de Parfum is one of those special few that once you smell it, it immediately catches you and bewitch your soul. Felt in love with it since the very first spray and all of its development, this one automatically hit the spot. Being the Master Laudamiel behind this creation, I imagined it, painted a picture in my mind and I created very high expectations and today, I can assure this highly met those expectations and surpassed them.
I instantly felt a connection with this fragrance, I mean, do you know that sensation that makes you feel like you know someone or something from a long time but actually you are just being introduced to her/him or to it? That's exactly what happened to me with Rose1845, a perfume that has a connection with my soul like I've been knowing it and wearing it my whole life.
The perfume showcases a mixture of notes blended to perfection starting for the exceptional roses selected, passing through different flowers and flowering plants showing the Greek Australian heritage of Lazarus to end up in captivating resins, patchouli and green accords to conform the hyper reallistic, tridemensional and natural representation ofthe rose and the characters that surrounds her.

REVIEW
An impressionistic and abstracted representation of the whole rose plant, from her roots and vegetal parts passing through her thorny body and ending up in to her velvety and lush petals capturing all of her lavish finesse.
Laudamiel worked with the finest ingredients to conform this utterly special and reallistic image of the rose with a gentle dose of geranium and a fleeting bergamot touch adding a light lemony and aromatic nuances to the beautiful and crisp savory rose from Grasse mixed with the opulent Damask rose.
A kaleidoscopic green, herbal and vegetal contrast conforms a layout completely unique in this genre of fragrances thanks to the addition of an opulent chamomile, geranium and loamy patchouli combo mixed with the slightly sweetness of the boronia to add a new lay with an almost palatable texture. The whole formula rests on an herbal, camphorous yet creamy and kinda caramelized at the same time due to the addition of a new lay conformed of myrtle wrapped in tonka bean and Siam benzoin.
The quality of the ingredients used is outstanding and Christophe Laudamiel master hand does the rest to make this scent one of the most memorable and evocative pieces around the rose released. Definitely amongst the top rose based perfumes released in the last times and that I had the luck to experience. A true rose for the true rose devotes.
In terms of performance, this perfume is a powerhouse as it lasts a whole day without overspraying at all creating an allurong scent bubble around you but always being discreet and nothing invasive but, don't take me wrong, this is not the typical good way to say a scent doesn't projects because ROSE1845 does Project, but in the way that all perfumes should project without being a weapon of mass destruction and entering the room before you like the perfume was wearing you and not vice versa.
